J'ouvre page 177, chapitre Le Szum et le Ching, et je lis :

Vincent is French but could be British, not only because he loves French wine but also for his elegant sharpness that I've met mostly through my British friends/

SUBTLETY OR THE RAISE OF SPRING/

Yesterday at Art Paris with a friend we were discussing of what was lacking in most art today. He mentioned the word SUBTLETY after looking at some beautiful Hans Hartung paintings.
I found this subtlety also last week on frozen lake Peipsi at the Estonian/Russian border.
Though there was some violence in it. In the colors and in the feeling of Spring taking over Winter for good/

Here are four photographs I recently did for FRENCH Magazine.

From top to bottom: THE GENERAL SOCIETY and LILLY WOOD & THE PRICK at the Music Kiosk of Jardins du Luxembourg. The lady with a violin in her hand is Laetitia P. was a walker by who agreed to share a moment with us, playing her role just right.
TAMARA KABOUTCHEK & NICOLAS COMMENT photographing themselves at Le Café Carmen. Nicolas is a photographer himself, check out his beautiful images at Agence VU. They were inspired by a Diane Arbus and her husband's self portrait I found in a book.
FERGUS & LA FIANCÉE at Chez Henry Paris 9th. La Fiancée is like a butterfly. She quietly lands on things as she evolves in a space.
PEPPER ISLAND & BRIGITTE were photographed at Le Cercle in Etienne Marcel. btw, I love the vintage dresses the Brigitte brought into shooting. Really got that L.A. vintage feeling.

I could not have made those pictures without the precious help of our little team.
YOKO MIYAKE did the styling on LA FIANCEE/FERGUS and TAMARA/NICOLAS. She was assisted by JAMES THOMAS.
YUANYI JEFF LEE did it on THE GENERALIST/LILLY WOOD & THE PRICK
CEDRIC VIOLLET, assisted me. He is an also amazing photographer and did a wonderful job on the light.
HUGO ROUSSELIN was also photo-assistant and created these colorful backgrounds.
HELENE BIDARD did the hair.
FUMI HIRO BAN did the make up on TAMARA & NICOLAS and LA FIANCÉE & FERGUS.
AKIKO SAKAMOTO did the make up for the group pictures.

Just completed JARDIN KENNEDY, the short I've directed last year. With Clotilde Courau and Tómas Lemarquis. Also staring Tav Falco and Brice Fournier.
We shot on 35mm with Panavision Camera, it was a wonderful moment that I'm happy to share now.
